Our Sexual Health Outreach team once again teamed up with Age Concern & South Tyneside Public Health to support Older Peoples Day in October.

The event held at Cleadon Park Primary Care Centre showcased the range of services within South Tyneside to celebrate older people’s week that support local communities within the area.
The event was attended by 20+ local services and our very own sexual health outreach team.
''Health and Well-being events are an important part of our community service offer and ethos enabling us to engage with the public who would not traditionally access services such as sexual health. The event provided brief interventions & service information using our making every contact count approach. This helps us determine local need, understand public knowledge, and helps engage in conversation with members of the public around local service provision to improve access to local sexual health services. The event was also supported by South Tyneside Councils Public Health team A Better U working together with Sexual Health Services to improve the health and well-being for local residents. It was also a great honour for our team to speak with the Mayor of South Tyneside Councillor Jay Potts & Councillor Tracey Dixon who kindly took time to speak to us and find out about the many sets of provision we offer for the residents of South Tyneside (Pictured). It was also great for us to also promote our new older persons section of the website and the new resources we have for people aged 50+’’
Another a great example of partnership working in South Tyneside between our Public Health colleagues, NHS & Voluntary sector organisations all sharing a common goal to improve the health of local communities in South Tyneside.
You can view the new section of the website here which has a range of new information for people aged 50+ and also features a new downloadable resource.
We look forward to working with you all again soon
