Our Policy on Confidentiality and Privacy
This service is confidential regardless of your age even if you are under 16 years old. We will only share the information you give us if we think you or someone else is at risk of harm.
If we do, we will discuss this with you first.
Please note you are welcome to be seen with your partner or friend but we would prefer to see you alone for the first few minutes of your consultation – we need to ask some sensitive questions that you may not wish to answer if you have someone else with you who. We will explain those questions and then you can decide if you would like your friend/partner with you for rest of the consultation and examination.
You will be offered the opportunity to have a chaperone present during your consultation/examination. The chaperone will be a member of our staff.
We are legally required to share statistical information with The Department of Health. This does not include personal details but does include information about infections, treatments and types of contraception used.
