New sexual health clinic in Jarrow

A new sexual health clinic has opened at Palmer Community Hospital in Jarrow.

It has been introduced by South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust in addition to its service at Stanhope Parade Health Centre, South Shields.

Staff at both clinics, including doctors, nurses and health advisors, are able to offer a full  range of contraception, plus screening and testing for sexually transmitted infections. In some  cases, infections can also be diagnosed and subsequent treatment is available free of charge.

The Palmer Community Hospital sessions are held as follows:

Tuesdays – appointment only 9am-4pm; walk-in (no appointment necessary), 4.30pm-7pm
Wednesdays – appointment only, 9.30am-11.30am; walk-in (no appointment necessary),  1pm-4pm; appointment only, 4.40pm-7pm
