South Tyneside Adult Recovery services now in partnership with South Tyneside Sexual Health providing access to STI testing and free condom schemes.
The Harm Reduction Outreach team provide a range of services relating to substance misuse including:
- The prevention / transmission of blood borne viruses (BBVs) and provision of sterile equipment
- The prevention/ transmission of BBVs between individuals through the provision of information on the risks associated with sharing equipment.
- Provide a means of safe disposal of used equipment.
- Reduce sexual transmission of BBVs between individuals through safer sex information referral to South Tyneside Sexual Health Services
- Increase awareness of the risks and harms related to substance misuse and wider impact on families
